*In a bright flash of light, The sleigh and reindeer dropped back out into the sky of the group's own world*

Rainbow Dash: SO good to be home.

Rarity: Oh, it certainly is.

Blitzen: Don't drop your game just yet. Still a lotta stops to make here.

Twilight: Well, there can't be that many places that celebrate Christmas here, right?

Blitzen: You'd think that, wouldn't you?

Pinkie: So where's our first stop?

Patch: Let's take a look. *looking at the map* Ah, here we go! The kingdom of Mareheim. *looks at Mezmo* You used to live there, didn't you, Mezmo?

Mezmo: Yeah, that's right. It's where I was born.

Fluttershy: Oh, how wonderful for y

*A while later, Mezmo, the Mane Six, Patch, and Aurora were in the stables, explaining to Blitzen and the other reindeer of the reward Santa had given them*

Blitzen: *eyes widen* WHAT?!?

Patch: That's what the boss said.

Comet: That's crazy!

Cupid: Vixen's friends are nice, but--

Dancer: They don't know the route! They don't have the training! And only TWO of them can fly!!!

Blitzen: *breaking down* Centuries of perfect attendance. A couple of close calls…but we've always made it. And now THIS is our reward?! To watch a bunch of rookies DESTROY Christmas?!

Twilight: Don't you think you're overreacting a wee bit?

AiE: The Flight To Save Christmas Chapter 3

*Hours passed as the Mane Six, Mezmo and Vixen lay unconscious in the snow, almost completely buried due to the storm. The first to awaken was Mezmo, who was surprised to see that the storm was over and all was calm and quiet. He looked up to see a clear sky full of stars and the rainbow glow of the Aurora Borealis. He looked over to see the Mane Six shaking the snow off themselves*

Twilight: Ugh… W-What happened?!

Applejack: My grandpa's sled! It's busted all to pieces!

Rarity: *looks up at the sky* Hey, look! The storm's stopped!

Pinkie: And the sky's so pretty!!

Rainbow Dash: How long were we out?

Mezmo: A few hours…I think

*Not a second later, in a bright flash of light, the group appeared in frozen country Tundrera. The landscape was covered in snow, ice and large mountains. Occasionally a fierce gust blew up, blowing snow from drifts*

Applejack: *shivers* Land's sake, it's cold out here!

Mezmo: We're in the arctic, Applejack, what did you expect it to be? Tropical?

*The group looked around in awe at the vast snowy landscape. They tried to find landmarks, but there was nothing more than snow drifts and the occasional rock or bush. An arctic fox skittered by, going from drift to drift*

Twilight: *eyes widen* Oh my… It's all so…beautiful…

*It was a beautiful winter day in Ponyville. Snowflakes gently fell from the sky, houses and cottages were decorated in garland and colorful lights, and a large tree was being set up by some worker ponies in the village square. Mezmo, wearing a blue scarf around his neck, was just leaving his cottage as he happily walked down the road, singing aloud a merry tune*

*Later that night, everyone lay asleep in their own private tent or trailer. Andre was sleeping in his trailer atop his weight bench with his feet up on a seventy pound dumbbell. War Fan was resting on her personal feather mattress while Sonny slept with a group of apes and monkeys in a giant fake tree. Carl, the animal trainer, slept in a hammock by the animal cages. Everyone seemed to be asleep, except for the Mane Six, Spike, and Mezmo, who were inspecting the circus grounds*

*It was late morning in Ponyville. At the local record store, a costumer had just walked through the door, ringing the bell as she did so. She was a heavy set pony mare with white fur, a yellow tail and a mane piled up in a beehive hairdo, violet eyes with long eyelashes, and a pair of golden theater binoculars for a cutie mark. She approached the front desk, where Vinyl Scratch was busy writing in her diary*

Vinyl Scratch: *lowers her trademark shades to reveal her red eyes* Uh… Can I help you?

*The next morning, snow gently fell from the sky as everypony in Ponyville was gathered around the giant decorated tree in the town square. Pinkie was happily dancing with her sisters while their parents gushed over Pound and Pumpkin. The Apple family were happily exchanges gifts with each other. Rarity and Sweetie Belle were surrounded by their relatives. At one point, Rarity let out a raucous laugh in the same accent her parents have, only to cover her mouth, blushing madly. Fluttershy and Angel were exchanging gifts with her mother and father while Twilight and Spike exchanged gifts with Mezmo and Salem before they had to go off to Canterlot to visit her parents. But the only one in town that didn't seem to be taking part of the festivities was Rainbow Dash, who sat alone in the snow, looking up at the gray clouds*

Rainbow Dash: Please, please, please have gotten my letter!

*Just then, a loud whinny was heard as a muscular Pegasus stallion came diving from the clouds and lands in front of Rainbow Dash. He was dark gray with a black mane and tail, along with a tornado shaped cutie mark on his flanks. This was Whirlwind, Rainbow Dash's father*

Whirlwind: Rainbow…is it really you? *nuzzles Rainbow tenderly* I see the face I love most…and I can't get enough of it!

Rainbow Dash: *pause* Hi dad…

Whirlwind: Rainbow…I'm so sorry. I was wrong to treat you like that. You are my daughter, and I will always love you. I'm sorry if I ever made you feel like my love was something you had to earn.

Rainbow Dash: It's okay, dad. I forgive you. And…I love you, too.

*The two then hugged as only a parent and child could*

Rainbow Dash: Come on, I wanna introduce you to my friends.

*Rainbow Dash and Whirlwind came walking up to the Mane Six, their families and Mezmo*

Rainbow Dash: Guys, I'd like you to meet my dad, Whirlwind. Dad, these are my friends Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, and Mezmo. Fluttershy you already know.

Fluttershy: Hello, Mr. Whirlwind, sir.

Whirlwind: Hello, Fluttershy. Thank you for keeping an eye out for my daughter.

Fluttershy: Your welcome, sir. Happy Hearth's Warming.

Whirlwind: And to you, too.

Twilight: It's an honor to meet you, sir.

Applejack: Same here.

Pinkie: Nice to finally meet you!

Rarity: It most certainly is, Mr. Whirlwind.

Mezmo: *eyes widen* Wow…you're ripped!!

Whirlwind: Oh, what? This? *flexes his muscles* Oh, that's nothing. You shoulda seen me in my prime.

Twilight: Will you be staying for the festivities?

Whirlwind: Of course! I'd be happy to!

Twilight: Wonderful. Speaking of which… *hands Mezmo a package wrapped with blue wrapping paper and tied with green string* This is for you, Mezmo. From all of us.

Mezmo: *opens the package to find a small portrait of him and the Mane Six together* Oh, wow… I-It's me…and all of you…

Twilight: Yep. It's to show you that no matter how far you are away from home, you'll always have a place among us.

Mezmo: This really means a lot to me, Twilight… I-I don't know what to say…

Spike: Well, it goes "thank you" and "what would I do without you?".

Mezmo: *tears well up in his eyes as he gave Twilight a hug* Happy Hearth's Warming, Twilight.

Twilight: *hugs Mezmo back* Merry Christmas, Mezmo.

*Just then, the town clock tower chimed ten o'clock a.m.*

Twilight: Oh, my! Spike, we need to go. We'll miss our train!

Spike: *picks up a suitcase* Comin', Twilight! *hops onto Twilight's back*

Mezmo: Have fun, you two.

Twilight: We will. See everypony in a few days! *trots off toward the train station with Spike on her back*

Ponies and Mezmo: Bye, Twilight.

Applejack: *looks to Mezmo* Hey Mezmo, how 'bout you sing us a Christmas carol?

Mezmo: Me? Really?

Applejack: Yeah, go ahead!

Pinkie: Come on, Mezzy. Sing for us!

Mezmo: *smiles* I'd be happy to! *looks to all the other ponies* Uh, does anypony know where I can find a piano?

*At that moment, Big Macintosh pushed in a piano next to Mezmo*

Big Macintosh: There ya go.

Mezmo: Thanks.

*Mezmo sat down at the piano, cracked his knuckles, and soon began playing a beautiful and harmonious melody, as all the other ponies in town gathered around to listen*

Mezmo: *singing* When Christmas time is over and presents put away, don't be sad
There'll be so much to treasure about this Christmas day and the fun we've had
So many happy feelings to celebrate with you
And, oh, the good times hurry by so fast
But even when it's over there's something you can do to make Christmas last

Okay, i have delayed all my comments on teh christmas special to this last one...this christmas special if freakin' awesome! Not only you continued doing well what you already did: handling the characters well, adding great refs to mythology and making your oc's likable, the entire pony vs human holiday theme as well as some added minor details i like (willy wonka ref, prehistoric walrus, to name a few). In short, this has to be the best christmas fic i've ever read!
