BLJaR Meet The Swan Princess Chapter 9

Chapter 9

*Running through the forest, Derek and the El Arca Six finally make it to the ruins of Swan Lake Castle. They turn to one end and the Six gasp with despair. With Logan and the others watching with their heads down, The El Arca Six join up with them as Derek bends over the fallen form of Princess Odette*

Derek: Odette! *crouches toward her* Oh, what have I done to you? *hugs her* Forgive me, Odette… Forgive me.

Odette: *stirs awake* Derek.

Derek: *looks in her eyes* Yes, Odette. I'm here.

Odette: Derek… I feel so weak. I think I'm…

*The two teams and Odette's animal friends assume the worst and realizes the painful truth: Whatever happened, Odette was now dying*

Derek: No, you'll live, Odette. The vow I made was for you.

Odette: I know. I love you, Derek.

*And then, all so suddenly, Odette's hand falls from Derek's shoulders, her eyes close shut, her last breath escapes, until finally… Odette… Is dead*

Derek: Odette… Odette! Odette!

Rae: Is she…?

Justin: *shocked, shakes his head* Oh no. No!

Logan: *holds back tears* Odette… *removes his sunglasses* I'm so sorry, Odette.

Fantasy: But… That's not how the story's supposed to end!

Derek: *turns to the others* Please, can't you help me!? Can any of you help me?!

Isaac: We can't.

Benny: You've made your vow of everlasting love. *hangs his head down* But it wasn't for her.

Derek: *shakes his head* No… No, you're wrong! *cries out to the skies* I made the vow for her. Do you hear? The vow I made was for her!

Rothbart: No need to shout.

*The group and Derek suddenly turn around to Rothbart standing before them, admiring his own handiwork, along with Mirage standing next to him*

Mirage: Oh, isn't this just precious?

Logan: Mirage! I'm not surprised you'd be in on this too!

Mirage: Well, I cannot really take all the credit in Rothbart's schemes. But then, if it weren't for fulfilling his promise of absolute power, then yes… I should say I had a hand in this wonderful carnage.

Derek: Don't let her die!

Rothbart: Is that a threat?

Mirage: Sounds like one to me. Pitiful, but still, a threat, nonetheless.

Derek: *clutches Rothbart's cape* Don't you dare let her die!

Rothbart: Oh, you’re right. It "is" a threat.

Leo: *pulls out his sword and points it at Rothbart and Mirage* You heard him, Rothbart! Bring her back!

Benny: If you don't, then we'll MAKE you! *pulls out his sword*

Rothbart: Oh, but you're forgetting one little thing. If either of you so much as lay a hand on me. *pulls out the miniaturized Arofighter and Trimaxian* You can say goodbye to your little friends!

Benny & Leo: *growls*

Logan: Not a problem. *summons his keyblade* Derek, get out of the way!

*Derek quickly gets out of the way, just as Logan twirls the keyblade around and about before aiming it towards Rothbart. The blade starts to build a huge wave of energy somehow sucked along the tip and then a thin beam fires towards Rothbart's hand*

Rothbart: *laughs* Fool! My magic is far too powerful! Not even you and your keyblade are strong enough to undo the spell!!

Logan: Maybe not alone, Rothbart. But together…

Johnny: *summons his keyblade* You'd be amazed how bad these babies can get. *fires a beam along with Logan's*

Rothbart: W-What?! Two keyblades!?

Mirage: What?!

Benny: You heard him, everyone! All together now!! *shoots a beam of light from his sword*

Leo: Right behind you, Benny!! HYAH!!! *shoots a beam of light from his sword*

Rae: This one‘s for Odette! *pulls out her wand* Moon Healing Escalation!!

*Adding to their power, the girls summoned their magic staffs and aimed a series of rays towards the combined magic, building up the power that seems to stun Rothbart, as they cover the tiny figures. The men unleash their own swords firing wave upon wave of magic, the field started to grow larger and larger, brighter than the sun*

Benny: Keep at it, guys! Give it all you got!

Logan: There's a fine line I've come to learn in life, Rothbart, when we work together… As one--

Fantasy Adventure Team & Logan‘s Crew: We can do anything!

*Finally, the combined energy from the weapons suddenly causes the Arofighter and the Trimaxian to blast away from Rothbart's grasp, knocking him off balance. For a moment, the two tiny ships fly high into the sky levitated by the power of the weapons. They fade into the clouds and an explosion of light blasts into the night air. Suddenly, the two ships, now returning to their normal size, make their landing to the ground and the doors to the Arofighter open*

Isaac: Um… Is anybody in there?

Loki: *growls, translates* Maybe it's a fake.

*Suddenly, a group of figures slowly step out from the Arofighter, as if they were just getting over some form of air sickness. Each passenger stepped out one at a time, and what they see shocks the Fantasy Adventure Team: Aurora Rose Worgen, Sunlight, Palladon, Tye, Maggie, Talon, and Claw*

Sunlight: All right. *grips her axe* Where's the bearded creep that shrunk us?

Aurora Rose: *unsheathes her sword* When I get the rotten scoundrel for the crimes he committed, I'm gonna… *turns to the two teams* Leo?

Leo: *sees Aurora and smiles* Aurora, you're okay!

Sunlight: *looks to Benny* Benny? *gasps* Benny!

*The passengers of the Aerofighter quickly flee towards the ecstatic group. They quickly embrace in each other's arms, Benny and Sunlight embracing each other, while Leo and Aurora ran into a passionate kiss. Palladon and Tye were given hand-shakes and hugs from their other teammates. Claw patted Benny's shoulder and then they both gave a hug, while Leo happy to see that Maggie and Talon were all right hugged them*

Maggie: Oh Leo, we're so glad you're all right.

Leo: Thanks, mom. But our job's not finished yet!

Palladon: *turns to Logan* Logan? *pause* Well, by the stars, we finally meet again… Though under strange circumstances.

Logan: *smiles* What do you say to one seemingly last fight together? We win, we'll have plenty of talk.

Palladon: *nods, salutes* It'll be an absolute honor.

Tye: *steps in, punches his palms* Count me in, too.

Justin: *pulls out his sword* Count us ALL in!

Isaac: *pulls out his massive sword* Hey, don’t start the party without us!

Loki: *growls, bears his teeth menacingly at Rothbart*

Popeye: Let me at ‘im, let me at ‘im!!

Bonnie: *pulls out her revolvers and aims them at Rothbart* Guess who brought guns to a sword fight?

Benny: *points his sword at Rothbart* All right, Rothbart, you and Mirage are outnumbered! Bring Odette back to life or face the consequences!

Logan: You're the only one with the power, now DO IT!

Rothbart: Only if you defeat… Me.

*In that moment, Rothbart summons a huge ball of magic and the intense of energy surrounds the mad enchanter. An explosion of light nearly sends the group back, as something even more menacing appears in it's place. A vicious, horrifying creature as black as it's dreaded heart, roaring into the orange sky as it's true form is revealed before the stunned group*

Derek: The Great Animal!

Jean-Bob: I'm betting on the animal.

Mirage: *smirks* I've already done my part of this grand scheme. I shall leave to allow Rothbart to have his moment of glory.

*A dark portal is opened behind her and she turns to step into it. But then she turns back with a malicious grin*

Mirage: Fight to your hearts content, Rothbart… May it be your last. *laughs and enters the portal*

Logan: Coward!

Leo: Never mind her, focus on Rothbart!

*Rothbart was about to take off, but Derek refused to let him give in*

Derek: *raises his sword* No!

*The beast knocks Derek down, causing his sword to skid aside. Derek manages to grab a handful of dirt and tossed it into The Great Animal's face. He then picks up his sword and makes a mighty swipe along it's wing and gives a look of determination*

Derek: I won't let her die!

Benny: *growls, points his sword* That goes double for us!

Logan: *points his sword and keyblade* Make that TRIPLE!

*The monster just simply grins evilly and proceeds to take to the air. Bonnie, taking out her dual revolvers, fires round upon round at the beast but it was moving so high that eventually it disappeared from sight*

Bonnie: Dang it!

Sunlight: Where'd he go?

Dagnino: Stay close, everyone!

*They looked around with their weapons close. All was quiet, too quiet, which made them all the more nervous yet determined to find the beast by any means necessary. All of a sudden, the beast bursts through the trees, knocking several team members aside and caught Derek in his grip while breaking his sword with his teeth. Desperate, Derek grabs a nearby rock and smashed it against the beast's talon, causing him to utter a great shriek. The three animals and books could only watch as their friends struggled against the beast*

Fantasy: Oh baby, I don't like where this is heading.

Horror: Can't they use their magic like before?

Fantasy: Magic takes a great deal of concentration, Horror, honey. That thing's got their minds so scattered about, they won't be able to use it.

Horror: Oh no!

Adventure: So how in the world are they going to be able to stop that monster?

Puffin: *realizes* The bow! Derek's bow!

Fantasy: Aha! Arrow through the monster's heart! Of course! Good thinking, Puffin, baby!

Puffin: *grabs Jean-Bob* Swim to the bottom of the lake and get the bow!

*Puffin hurls Jean-Bob towards the lake, his scream cut short once his body crashes through the lake. In the meantime, both teams struggled with their fight against The Great Animal*

Isaac: Come on, ugly! You want a piece of us? Well, come and get it!

*Seeing as how the beast chose to take to the air, Isaac hurled his sword aside and took out his massive shot gun. He fired one heavy round after another hoping for a clear shot but the beast zig-zagged too quickly. It then pounced atop Isaac, attempting to stomp the Knight-Elf to death. Seeing his friend in trouble, Loki lunged with his fangs bared to The Great Animal's leg and grasped it with his jaws, holding on as the beast took the air for a moment. More annoyed than hurt, the beast swung it's leg, sending Loki hurtling toward the lake with a great splash*

Isaac: LOKI!!!!

*Seeing their friends in trouble, Talon, Maggie, and Claw took the sky to take the fight to the beast*

Talon: We can take him! Maggie, Claw, attack from the sides! I'll aim for the front!

Claw: *nods*

Maggie: Be careful, boys!

*They split their formation as they flew straight towards the Great Animal. Once Maggie and Claw were on the sides, they fired a blast of electricity towards the mighty beast as Talon attacked from the front*

Leo: All right, mom and dad!!

*But the beast, barely fazed by the attack, flew straight up toward the sky with great speed as the three Mutates followed at a decent distance. All of a sudden, The Great Animal suddenly plummets at a great velocity and the Mutates have little to no time to fully react. It zips past through the trio, causing them to split heavily and land hard on solid gravel*

Talon: AUGH!!!

Leo: NO!!!

*With the Mutates out of the way, The Great Animal turned his attention to Derek, lifting him high into the air as the Prince struggled with all his might. It then releases it's hold on Derek as it appears to fall straight towards the ground. But then the beast catches him in mid-fall and hurls him to a tree. Derek tears off a branch and fights back doing his best to hold off the beast. But while Jean-Bob successfully found Derek's bow at the bottom of the lake, an attempted assault to Derek makes him lose balance and fall hard off the tree, hitting branches, before colliding with solid ground*

Johnny: Nothing can stop that thing! We're hitting him with everything we've got!

Benny: Not everything! *runs on all fours towards the Great Animal*

Teresa: Daddy!

*Going at a great speed, Benny propels himself towards The Great Animal, slamming his fists at the back of The Great Animal's neck, knocking him to the ground. He bashes his fists along the monster's head, throwing every ounce of strength in his body. But the Great Animal pushed the beast off his chest and sends Benny skidding on the ground back to his teammates*

Sunlight: Benny!!

*Suddenly, from out of nowhere, Logan yells out in fury, jumps onto the monster's back and begins to strangle him with his keyblade*

Logan: You want my keyblade, Rothbart? You can have it! When I shove it right down your throat!!

*Struggling with the keyblade pressed against it's throat, The Great Animal makes for the trees and bashes Logan alongside one tree, trying to shake him loose. Logan held on as best as he could, but eventually the pain started to take it's toll on the boy giving The Great Animal enough strength to toss the Keyblade wielder off his back towards the ground*

Bonnie & Rae: LOGAN!!!

Logan: *struggles to get up* Urg… Ung… *coughs and manages to get onto his knees* Ugh… *takes his sword from his scabbard, points it up and the sky and holds it close to his body* Tuure Alka… Please… Give me strength.

*At the moment, it seemed to be a losing battle for both teams. Meanwhile, Jean-Bob struggled to pull the bow loose from the sandy bottom of the lake. Until something zoomed along, clutching the bow and rapidly swam to shore. It was Speed and as the turtle made it's way to shore, Puffin waved in the air to catch it as the beast made to finish off the remaining heroes*

Puffin: Throw it! Oh, throw it, throw it!

*Speed cast the bow hard to Puffin, but the bow flew over with Jean-Bob holding on for dear life. Luckily, it lands mere inches from Derek, who had since been unconscious during this fight*

Logan: Derek! *tries to run, but collapses from the pain, dropping his sword*

Jean-Bob: *hops to Derek, slaps his face* Wake up, wake up! *Derek awakens* Allo! Goodbye!

*Fully recovered, Derek grabs for his bow and reaches for an arrow… Only to discover that his pack containing his arrows are gone. The beast suddenly hurdles straight towards the seemingly defenseless beast, as every injured teammate watch helplessly. Just then, they heard a voice*

Bromley: Oh please…

*They turn to the side to see Bromley, badly drenched from his own escapade, aimed an arrow to Derek signaling for catch-and-fire*

Derek: Brom?

Bromley: Oh please, oh please, oh please… Now! *fires*

*Bromley fires the arrow with all his might, the arrow zooms towards Derek, who successfully clutches the arrow as it was inches towards him. He then fires the arrow with his bow and the beast feels a striking pain, the arrow hitting him where it hurt. The beast shrieks while still in the sky, bits of magic escape his chest, as he falls towards the lake. He splashes into Swan Lake and an explosion of magic blasts into the sky for a moment after, until eventually all that remained of Rothbart was gone and the sky became blue once more. Relieved that the battle was finally over, Bromley faints while the three animals and the two teams cheer for their success*

Isaac: Whoa… Epic Villain Death!

Loki: *growls, translates* Totally!

Rae: *to Logan, who limps a bit* Logan! Are you okay?

Logan: *groans* I'm fine… Nothing a little potion and years of therapy can't fix.

Bonnie: *runs over and hugs Logan* Oh, Logan! Thank god, you're okay! For a minute I thought…

Logan: *interrupts, groans* I'm all right, Bonnie… It's just…pain.

*They turn to see Teresa and Sunlight lifting up Benny the Beast, who was checked up by Palladon and Tye. A little bruising, but otherwise Benny was lucky to walk*

Benny: *turns to Logan* Well, not bad for our first major battle together.

Logan: *chuckles* Couldn't have been better.

Popeye: Yous can say that again.

Justin: Hey, where's Derek?

Derek: Forgive me, Odette…

*The groups turn toward Derek and all of a sudden, their victory had become bittersweet once they see the sad scene before them. Prince Derek, leaning over the body of Odette, a ray of sunshine shines over the couple as Derek tries to speak to her hoping if there was one last bit of life in her. For some members of the group, it was hard to watch let alone listen*

Derek: Forgive me. I only wanted to break the spell, to prove my love. I love you for your kindness and courage, I always have.

*The teams start to cry as they watch Derek kiss Odette on the forehead and hugs her deeply in his arms. Even if they won over a mighty beast such as Rothbart, they still lost a great friend despite all of their hard work*

Odette: Derek?

*Suddenly, as if they imagined it, the team looks up and are surprised to see what happened. Odette, in some way and some how, was alive as she looks up to Derek with loving eyes. Derek was shocked as well, but the moment he saw her eyes he knew at once what had happened. His love... Saved her*

Derek: Odette!

Odette: Oh, Derek!

*The two embrace each other in a kiss as everyone looks proudly at this happy ending seeing Odette and Derek finally reunited after everything they've been through together*

Benny: *smiles* Well, there you have it. Everlasting love.

Logan: *sighs* Amen to that, Benny… Amen.
