*May 5th, 1937 - Somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean*
*It seemed to be another typical uneventful day on this voyage of the Hindenburg. Along with a great number of passengers gathered around and about, some they knew and others not as much, the Fantasy Adventure Team took their seats in the Dining Room region of the A Deck. An alumni of servants each carried some trays of food towards the guests, setting each course in front of the passengers, before moving back towards the kitchen located on the B Deck. The team were not as much in a hurry to eat, as this wasn't the first time they've eaten on the Hindenburg since they left*
Johnny: *reading the menu* So, what shall I have today? Eggs in a cup with coffee? Frankfurts with cocoa? Ham and salami with tea? Cheese with milk? Or maybe I should have one of each!
Leo: Settle down, Johnny. The Hindenburg's crew won't be happy if they run out of food to feed everyone.
Johnny: But I'm hungry!
Benny: We all are. But relax, it won't be long before we land in New Jersey tomorrow.
Johnny: Okay, okay. Just give me some ham and salami with tea then.
Rae: There, now was that so hard?
Dagnino: At least its better than when we had breakfast yesterday.
Panthy: Don't even get me started.
Teresa: Hey, Johnny, don't forget to sneak some for Lion.
Johnny: Way ahead of ya.
*After a while, a servant passes by a couple tables, where the Adelt and Ernst couples sat nearby, before making his way towards the tables where the team sat. Trays of food are soon handed out to each member*
Rafiki: Oh yes, I'm starving.
Servant: *once he hands out all the trays* Enjoy your meals. *walks away from the group*
Benny: *to the servant* Danke shoen.
Xiro: Well, let's not sit here with our stomachs rumbling. Let's dig in!
Johnny: I was hoping you'd say that, Xiro! *looks to Leo* Hey Leo! You gonna eat or what?
Leo: *turns to Johnny* Huh? Oh, sorry. I was busy looking at the map. Making sure we're on course. But right then, dig in! *reaches towards a tray*
Dagnino: *examines his Frankfort Sausage* How do you like that? I ask that they make this rare and they cook it medium.
Teresa: Well, what are ya gonna do?
Xiro: Knowing Dag, he'd probably moan like an impotent jerk, and then bend over and take it up the tailpipe.
Dagnino: *annoyed* Watch it, Xiro!
Kairel: *shakes her head* Really, Xiro?
Xiro: What? I'd knew it make Dag mad. *chuckles* Classic movie. When we get back, we are definitely going to watch that flick.
Bruma: Could we just all eat already, please?
Aurora Rose: Yes, please, before I lose my appetite.
Panthy: I think I lost my sense of taste since we first boarded this flight. *takes a bite of fruit*
???: Well, if it isn’t my favorite ship-mates on the whole ship!
*The team turns to see Joseph Späh approaching towards a nearby empty chair and takes a seat alongside the group*
Johnny: Hey, Joe, what do ya know?
Joseph Späh: *laughs at that* I like you're style, my friend! They'd love you on vaudeville.
Johnny: You really think so?
Dagnino: *to the others* If that guy thinks he's funny, then imagine how he'd feel when Johnny slugged a queen with a hammer.
Teresa: *whispers back* Don't bring that up, honey.
Joseph Späh: Ah! I can't wait to be back home in Douglaston with my family tomorrow.
Benny: Oh, you live in Long Island?
Joseph Späh: You bet I do. Some of my most memorable acts are in New York. Like this one time I performed my signature lamp post act atop the Chanin Building. *smiles, leans back on his chair* Now that was fun!
Leo: *eyes widen* Holy cow, that was you?!
Joseph Späh: Of course! Who else would have the guts to-- Wait. *pause* You know my act?
Xiro: Yeah, Leo, how come you never told us that?
Leo: It just never occurred to me until right now. I remember that act so well: It made it seem as if Joe was stumbling over an apparent 680 foot drop toward the streets. But with the right editing, it just made a walk along a small, one-story brick structure on a roof more dramatic.
Joseph Späh: Yup, that was me. You certainly know your way around a camera, my friend.
Leo: Well, actually, my friends and I work our own film studio in America. You could say we're rising stars in our line of work.
Joseph Späh: Oh, what's it called? Maybe I could visit sometime.
Bruma: Yeah… Maybe…
Joseph Späh: So, what is the name of your studio?
Benny: Well... If you're ever around our area someday, *mutters* though maybe not likely, *out loud* our studio's the "Lionking Heart Fantasy Films" studio.
Joseph Späh: Ooh, is it like Metro Goldwyn Mayer? Because they have a lion too.
Aurora Rose: It's "sort've" like that. They do serve as a bit of an inspiration, least with the lion.
Joseph Späh: Hmm… Interesting.
*As they sat around enjoying their morning breakfast, Johnny ate a single bite from his boiled egg revealing the rich protein inside. He then turns to a cup of cocoa, dips the bottom of that half into his drink, and then swallows the rest with much enjoyment*
Johnny: Mmm… Now that's good protein.
Dagnino: *shakes his head* You have a weird appetite kid.
Johnny: Hey, I've had stranger. Thought you'd be used to it. *rips a piece of Sausage off with his fangs, chews it*
Rafiki: Heh, heh, heh. That's Johnny for ya.
*Apart from a rather interesting breakfast gathering, not much had been going on along the Hindenburg for most of the day. Before long, the hours had past, and night had arrived much sooner than anyone could imagine. All of the Fantasy Adventure Team were already snuggled in their cabins, or at least trying to when considering the space. After carefully deciding on the sleeping arrangements, two of the members, Aurora Rose and Kairel, chose to sleep together in one room. The former was on the top bunk having a rather restless night, as Aurora seemed to be imagining something that's causing her mind to stir. She turns and twists under her covers, beads of sweat seem to pour from her brow, as if she's reaching the worst and… She suddenly awakens with a gasp*
Aurora Rose: *breathing heavily*
Kairel: *yawns, groggily* Urm… A-Aurora? You all right?
*Aurora says nothing as she picks herself up, stroking her hands along her face and groaning from whatever dream was most troublesome. She then leaps down off her bunk and makes her way out of the cabin, as Kairel looks on with a worried look*
*Once outside her cabin, Aurora motioned her way down the hall trying her best not to make as much noise as possible. One of the other cabin doors creak open, as a shadowy figure looms out to see her stroll down before making a turn along the sides. For by then, Aurora had made her way back to the lounge, grateful that it was empty and no one else was around*
*She slowly makes her way towards one of the windows, watching the night sky peering through the glass. She creaks a window open just slightly, so she could feel the cold night air brush past her face. She stares intently as if for some purpose, almost seeking a way to clear a mind that has been troubled since they stepped on board. Not realizing that at that moment, Aurora wasn't entirely alone*
???: Aurora… Are-are you okay?
*Aurora's attention is drawn, her eyes blink as if awakening from a temporary black-out. She slowly turns around to see a figure stand by in the shadows. Once close enough to the bit of moonlight shining along the glass, there was Aurora's most loyal friend and loving father, Leo. As concern as his tone was, the very expression on his face was just as equal*
Aurora Rose: Oh, Leo, dear. I… I didn't know you were there.
Leo: Couldn't sleep. You?
Aurora Rose: Well, can't say I haven't had any better. The beds here are not exactly comfortable on this ship.
Leo: *pause* But it's not the beds… Is it?
Aurora Rose: *sighs* No. *stares out the window* Leo… I've been having rough dreams since we've been on this airship.
Leo: *shrugs* Can't say I'm shocked. I once told you how Kairel used to have nightmares back when we visited Atlantica.
Aurora Rose: *shakes her head* This is nothing to do with any power-seeking demons or supernatural forces at work. But I can feel that something terrible is about to happen. And every night I feel it drawing close, every night it's the same dream.
Leo: *raises an eyebrow* Something terrible? Like what?
Aurora Rose: That's the trouble, Leo. I can't really describe it. I only get brief images and a bright light that follows. It's the unknown, Leo. The unknown is what scares me the most.
Leo: Well… I can't argue with that. *walks up closer to Aurora and places a hand on her shoulder* But I can tell you this much. Considering all this time we've spent out in the field. Past, present, future, or anywhere off this entire planet. If there's one thing I've learned from all that is this: No matter what situation we find ourselves in, the Fantasy Adventure Team always finds a way out of this. We always do; we're survivors.
Aurora Rose: *looks to Leo, smiles* I love you, Leo.
Leo: *smiles* I love you too, Aurora. And no matter what happens on this trip, I promise I won't let anything happen to you… Ever.
*Aurora and Leo look at each other, eye-to-eye, the moonlight reflecting off the outlines of both lion and worgen. Slowly but surely, the two lean in and a warm kiss is passed between the two. They hold it in as the Hindenburg continues it's course through the cloudy night sky, making it's way ever closer to America*
