Today I just found out that Ray Harryhausen, one of the greatest stop motion pioneers who ever lived, the man behind such great films as The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Jason and the Argonauts and the original Clash of the Titans...has passed away at the age of 92. He was such a big influence on me and was one of the reasons I wanted to be both a filmmaker and an artist. He's also influenced such other famous people like Tim Burton, Peter Jackson, and even George Lucas. Later this year, I was planning on doing a countdown of my absolute favorite creatures he has done, and now that I've heard this news, I shall devote the countdown in his memory! But for now, rest in peace, Ray. May you be reunited with your friend, Ray Bradburry, and finally see the dinosaurs like you wanted to when you were a kid. We shall all miss you. :(

It's a shame for the loss of one of your idiols Hewy, he was one the greatest stop motion animators
of all times next to Will Vinton, Nick Park and even Tim Burton. the original Clash of the Titans and Jason
and the Argonauts will always be my favorites films that he worked on. rest in peace Mr. Harryhausen,
we will miss you.

It appears only the geekly-inclined seem to know about this great man, which isn't a bad thing, but still...

May he rest in peace.

"The Golden Voyage of Sinbad" and the original "Clash of the Titans" will forever be on my favorite movies list.

All the Sinbads are great, but "Golden Voyage" is by far my fave.

I hope Ray will be remembered in the way he deserves to be. Like I said, the geek community seems to know about him the most, but I wish your average joe also knew how important he was/is.
